Dude! We had an earthquake!
About 5:40 this morning, I was half-awake and felt the bed start to shake. But, it was one of those things where I couldn’t figure out if I was awake or not. I woke Stephen up and said that either the cats were really playing at the end of the bed or we were having an earthquake. He asked why, and I told him because the bed was shaking! He didn’t feel it and just rolled over and went back to sleep.
When I finally got up and got in the shower and turned on the shower radio, I was waiting to hear if they said anything or if I had just imagined the whole thing. Finally, right about the time I was getting out, they talked a little bit about it. I jumped out of the shower and ran into the bedroom and yelled at Stephen while he was half-awake in bed. “I told you! I told you! I fucking told you there was an earthquake!” LOL

Waking up to two cats fighting and wrestling on the bed is quite amusing. Little freaks.
I had forgotten for a few moments yesterday that I generally hate people. That was until I watched the Democratic debate last night. Seriously people! We’re in a WAR and we currently have a little economy crisis going on and gas prices suck and on and on and on. And what do people want to know? “Senator Obama, why don’t you wear a flag pin? Do you not respect the flag?” FUCK! People are stupid. The first hour of the debate was just pointless.
I got to hold a week-old baby yesterday! She was so freaking adorable. *sigh* The baby fever? It is high.
In that same general theme, my sister has made it to 32 weeks! That considerably lowers some of the risks the baby would have if she were born before being full-term. She still has four more weeks to go before she will hit that magic mark, so let’s hope that the little bun in the oven keeps baking.
My mom is driving me batshit crazy lately. She just does some of the most inane things that you can imagine!
It’s supposed to be 72 degrees here today. My coworker managed to get today off. I hate her. Today, anyways.
I’m really going to try and play SPF tomorrow!

After being so excited about SPF coming back, I have failed to do it two weeks in a row now. I will work harder on getting that done and hopefully be back in the game on Friday!
I had a nice weekend, but nothing really happened. The only really funny thing that happened was Saturday night when I got a bit tipsy and went grocery shopping. I bought a pack of gum thinking it was the kind I wanted. It was not. So, I returned it. :P I did find the kind I wanted though!
Yesterday, I spent most of the day hanging out with my sister.
Man, this is a really boring post. LOL I’ve got nothing. I’ll try harder to think of a good post for later in the week.

Ahhh…I hate it when the bloggy people decide to change stuff around. It confuzzles me! Dear WP - please leave my stuff alone. Love, Me.
So, good news! The sister is home! I hung out with her Friday night and around 9:30, they decided that she was moving back to the post-partum side because she didn’t need to be constantly monitored. She and the baby had two consistent days of looking good, so she wasn’t so high-risk anymore. So when her docs came around on Saturday, she asked them that since they just keep moving her around and she is doing good, if she could finish out her bedrest at home and they agreed. So yay to that! I went and hung out for a bit Saturday too. I don’t like that she’s been in the hospital, but I like that we’ve gotten to hang out a lot lately.
Saturday night, I had a funny moment when after dropping Stephen’s car off at the shop at 1 in the morning. The first thing is that I backed into the shop and just left my parking lights on. I knew that my chances of the cops rolling up were pretty good, and after about 10 minutes of sitting there, here they came. He pulled up and I explained that I was just waiting for my husband and he was like “Okay. All’s good in the hood.” LOL I love living in a small(er) town. Then! When we finally left and I hit a huge pothole and looked in the rearview mirror and saw one of my wheelcovers rolling down the street? I cursed (A LOT) and yanked that car back around and said that I wasn’t leaving until I found that damn thing. I am tired of spending money on new ones! And yeah…so there I was at quarter after one in the morning getting out and retrieving my wheel cover from the side of the road. I found it!
Yesterday was the bridal shower for my friend Tiff and it was okay. I honestly just wasn’t that excited about it and her sister and I didn’t get a lot of opportunity to get together and smooth out the edges, so it was a bit of a by-the-seat-of-my-pants hosting job. It went fine and I got through it, so no harm, no foul. I just want the wedding to get here, so I can wear my cute dress. :P
And there ya have my weekend!

I am so tired. I would love a vacation. I think I would do nothing but sleep for the first three days!
Hanging out with the girls on Tuesday night was fun. We picked out our bridesmaid dresses and got those ordered. I can wait for them to come in. Mine will have to be altered just a bit because of course I don’t have enough on top to fill it out.
While we were out, my sister called and let me know that she was being monitored because she was having some contractions. Then she texted me to let me know that they were moving her back to high risk labor and delivery because they baby’s heartbeat was taking a dip whenever she’d have a contraction. She told me that I didn’t need to come up there just yet, so I kept my phone in my hand all night long and barely got any sleep. I made it into work yesterday and was here for a bit. Then, she called me and told me that they had her sign the emergency c-section consent form just in case. She sounded a bit worried and said she’d like it if I could come up there, so I went and hung out at the hospital all day. The contractions eventually stopped and minus one little episode, the baby’s heartrate stayed up. So really, I just spent the day chilling with my sister!
I’m telling you, that kid is going to be a troublemaker….just like her momma!
I’m going to spend the day trying not to fall asleep and I might go visit her on my lunch hour. After work, I’m hoping to go home and hit the sack. I still have some bridal shower planning to do, so that might not happen. Let’s cross our fingers, shall we?

First, an update on the sister. She is doing well, overall. She will be in the hospital on bedrest until she delivers or until she hits 35 weeks (let’s cross our fingers for that one, shall we?). She can only get up to go to the bathroom and for two half-hour periods every day, she can be wheeled around the hospital. She’s slightly cranky and slightly bored. I am taking her some cards and crayons and coloring books tonight to try and keep her a little entertained.
I went to the hospital after work on Friday and ended up hanging out until about 11:30. I decided that I would stay away from the hospital on Saturday since she had other visitors coming and so that I could get some things done. I actually made it to the gym for the first time in a month (and who knows when I’ll make it back) and then I had to come into work for a few hours. I hung out with my friend Tiffany for a while and we once again made sushi and watched Top Chef.
I went home to do some cleaning and laundry and finished doing that yesterday before I went to visit the sister for a while. I’m sure in the next few weeks, visiting the hospital will become routine. Thankfully, it’s less than a five-minute drive right down the street from work. And I bought a garage pass yesterday so that I’m not drained dry parking in the garage.
That’s all the news I have! It’s my boss’s birthday today, so we’ll be having a little celebration at lunch and having some chocolate eclair cake. I am sooooo looking forward to that!
And also, let’s hope I get some sleep tonight. I think there will be some medicinal help getting there.

This week (our second week back! Sweet!) Kristine has picked the theme of numbers. I had a couple of ideas for this one, but when a trip to the library was planned, I knew I had my pictures. I probably looked like a complete freak walking around taking pictures of random things, but the job was accomplished. If I hadn’t been so shy about whipping out the camera, I could have taken a ton more that would have fit the theme. And too bad (well, not really) there isn’t the old system of card cataloging…that would have been perfect for numbers.
Onto the picture(s)!

From top left: The atlas listing how many miles from Indianapolis to different cities; my library card number (and also all those other keychain cards); reference number on a book about The Rolling Stones; and I just liked the last one because it listed photography and music…two things which I love.
There you have it! Did you play? Leave me a comment and let me know!
On a different note (but still dealing with some numbers), my sister is in the hospital at the moment. She went yesterday for her regular checkup, but was complaining of some stomach pains. In the midst of trying to figure that out, they checked her and she is 3 centimeters dialated and 75% effaced. She is not having contractions, but they are concerned about the effacement. They are giving her steroids to help mature the baby’s lungs and she’ll be meeting with the NICU later today to discuss what will happen if the baby is born anytime soon. She’s only 29 weeks along. Please cross your fingers and hope that kid stays in there for a little while longer.

But I have to show it off because I’m so danged excited about it!
I got this little coin purse/wallet from a friend for Christmas:

(After slightly freaking out thinking I had a tear where that little white spot is, it’s just a piece of paper.)
I’ve been meaning to try and find a purse to match, but when I went into the Vera Bradley store the other night, I discovered that pattern has been retired. So sad. But! There’s always EBay! And so I found this the other day and it just arrived:

Isn’t it cute? I love pink and green! It’s a tad smaller than I would like, but the price was just right, so I’ll deal.
I always have too much crap crammed into my purse anyway!
